La Bohème Restaurant (Glebe Sydney)

The family visited La Bohème Restaurant for a Bavarian feast to welcome the new year. The menu consists of a variety of dishes across Eastern Europe.

Portion size of the meat was much bigger than expected. The wife and I had a Bavarian feast platter for 2 and we only managed to finish half. The schnitzel was really enjoyable with the meat not dried out.

While the ambiance of the stonemason building was great, the echoing of sounds made it harder for conversations than usual – so do request a table at the corner.

The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay (Sydney)

To celebrate the holidays, we visited The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay on Christmas Eve. We were seated at the corner overlooking the Anzac Bridge which was a fantastic setting for our dinner.

The menu contains a large array of fish dishes. We really enjoyed the entrees. The king salmon worked very well with the smoothness of avocado, as did the seared kingfish with chorizo.

I had the signature snapper pie which was generous and the perfect comfort food. The fish was not overcooked even with my second helping.
