Corniche All Day Dining (Abu Dhabi)
I stayed at the Sofitel in my 2 weeks in Abu Dhabi and many of my meals were eaten inside the hotel. To avoid waiting after a long day in the office, I usually headed straight to the Corniche buffet on the ground floor.
3 things I want from a buffet – roast tray that is not dried, 2 kinds of hot food that is well done, and high quality desserts. The Corniche has all of that. The roast chicken is succulent. And the array of curry dishes was authentic and flavourful. And there was the French patisserie like dessert cart…

Braza Darling Harbour (Sydney)
It was the boss’ (from overseas) shout again and he insisted to take us to Braza at Darling Harbour because he walked past there during a family holiday. So off we went.
Braza brings out the Brazilian Churrasco experience – essentially a lot of meat by my definition. And they just kept on coming. I have to say my cuts of beef and lamb were a bit tough. But the roasted pork belly was excellent. Do order the black bean side dish.

Zen Oasis (Berrima)
The family spent a Sunday on a driving journey to Bowral for some tulip viewing, as well as the vegetarian feast at Zen Oasis which is another 20 minute drive south from Bowral.
The word oasis is appropriate because the entire property is beautifully decorated with flowers and stone features, accompanied by very friendly staff. And the buffet lunch is proper and generous. All the dishes were made from fresh vegetables. The crispy seaweed ‘fake eel’ was a revelation, as was the pumpkin dumplings.
Make sure you book way in advance.

Nishiki Wagyu Yakiniku (Crows Nest)
To continue the feasting during the Chinese New Year period, we headed to Nishiki Wagyu Yakiniku for their mid-week buffet. The family got to sample a large range of wagyu beef and Japanese dishes at $55 per head.
For an all-you-can-eat venue, the quality of wagyu beef offered was very high – tender and wonderfully marbled. The buffet had a time limit of 100 minutes which did not seem enough, given the fun I was having at the grill. However, we all left the restaurant completely satisfied.
